DIY Salt Dough Ornaments

Salt dough is SO easy and so fun to make! I even made them with my 8 month old. Not all of them (okay only ONE) got her full little hand print on it. She loved them, was picking up the dough, and just wanted to pinch them and do it herself!

So I let her!! It was so fun, and I know the grandparents and great grandparents will cherish these gifts!

Ingredients:

1 C. Flour
1/2 C. Water
1/2 C. Table Salt

Cookie cutters
Paint/glitter to decorate
Twine/ribbon to hang

Mix all together.

Lay out some parchment paper on your counter to avoid a mess, and roll the dough out to be about 1/4 inch thick.

Using cookie cutters, cut out all your ornaments. We did some in circles, to put hand prints on!

Using a drinking straw, make a hole near the top.

Bake for about 2-3 hours (until dry and hard) at 250 degrees.

Cool and paint!
Naturally, her hand prints are golden!!!

It really is THAT simple! I hope many of you enjoy making these with your children and share the joy! They make perfect gifts!

Happy Holidays,
Chelsea
